Everything a Canadian needs to
actually plan retirement

Most calculators are too generic. This one knows CPP enhancement rules, OAS deferral bonuses, RRSP room limits, TFSA overflow, RRIF mandatory minimums, and provincial tax rates. Built specifically for Canada.

🏛️
Full CPP & OAS Modelling

See exactly how much taking CPP at 60 vs 70 is worth over your lifetime. OAS deferral bonuses, partial OAS for under 40 years in Canada, and GIS all included.

🏦
TFSA + RRSP + RRIF + DC Pension

Complete account modelling including Defined Contribution pensions. RRSP auto-converts to RRIF at 71 with CRA mandatory minimums applied every year. DC pension balance grows and merges correctly.

🌍
48 Global Destinations

From Bali to Budapest to Dubai. Real individual expense breakdowns — rent, food, healthcare, transport — with visa requirements, healthcare notes, and expat community info for each city.

📋
Tax Treaty Withholding Rates

When you pick a foreign destination, the year-by-year drawdown switches to non-resident mode — applying the correct Canadian withholding rate for CPP, OAS and RRSP under each country's treaty.

📅
Year-by-Year Drawdown Plan

See every year of retirement: which account gets drawn first, when CPP and OAS kick in, your net after-tax income, and your remaining balance at each age. Drag-and-drop to change withdrawal order.

💰
Optimal Withdrawal Order

The tool calculates the tax cost of drawing RRSP first vs TFSA first — and shows you exactly how many thousands of dollars you'll save by drawing accounts in the optimal order.

📊
Provincial Tax for All 10 Provinces

Real federal and provincial tax brackets for ON, BC, AB, QC and every other province. OAS clawback calculated above $90,997 taxable income. Net income — not gross — throughout.

🗺️
Location-Aware Cash Flow

Pick Puerto Vallarta or Penang and the entire drawdown recalculates against that city's actual costs. See exactly how much longer your money lasts if you retire abroad.

Your CPP and RRSP
are taxed differently
abroad.

When you leave Canada as a non-resident, CRA withholds tax at source on CPP, OAS and RRSP withdrawals. The rate depends on whether a tax treaty exists. Most calculators ignore this entirely — ours calculates it for every destination.

TFSA is always 0% — everywhere
Canada does not withhold on TFSA withdrawals, and no foreign country taxes them. TFSA is the most powerful account for Canadians retiring abroad — completely tax-free in both countries.
📋
Treaty vs no-treaty makes a massive difference
With a tax treaty (USA, Mexico, Spain, Malaysia, Japan…), NR withholding on CPP/OAS and RRSP drops from 25% to 15%. On a $40K RRSP draw, that's $4,000/year — or $100,000 over a 25-year retirement.
🌍
Some countries don't tax foreign income at all
Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, UAE, Malaysia, Thailand and Uruguay (first 10 years) only tax local-source income. You pay the Canadian withholding and nothing more — making these extremely efficient retirement destinations.

Your money goes further
than you think

Every destination includes individual expense breakdowns, Canadian visa requirements, healthcare costs, internet quality, expat community notes, and the exact tax treatment of your CPP, OAS, RRSP and TFSA.

Frequently asked

How does access work after I pay?
After Stripe processes your payment, you'll receive a license key by email within seconds. Enter it on the tool page — we'll send a magic link to your purchase email to activate your device. Access is tied to 1 device. Need to switch? Email us and we'll transfer it.
Is my financial data stored anywhere?
No. Everything runs 100% in your browser. Nothing is ever sent to a server. Your RRSP balance, income, and retirement plans never leave your device. We don't even have the ability to see your data.
How accurate is the CPP & OAS modelling?
We use official 2024 CRA adjustment rates: CPP reduces 7.2%/yr before 65, increases 8.4%/yr after 65. OAS base is $713.34/mo at 65. GIS is estimated from CPP. For your exact CPP entitlement, check My Service Canada — the estimate there will always be more accurate than any calculator.
How does the tax treaty withholding work?
When you pick a foreign destination in the Year-by-Year tab, the calculator switches to non-resident mode. CPP, OAS and RRSP/RRIF withdrawals are taxed at the Canadian NR withholding rate for that country (15% under most treaties, 25% without a treaty). TFSA is always 0%. Some countries add residence-country tax on top — we model that too for destinations like Spain, USA, Greece and Italy.
Are the destination costs realistic?
Individual cost estimates are sourced from Numbeo, Expatistan, and NomadList 2024–25 data, converted to CAD. They're individual (not couple) estimates and represent comfortable living — not ultra-budget. We include frugal and luxury multipliers so you can adjust. Costs vary by neighbourhood and year, so treat these as quality research estimates.
Can I get a refund?
All sales are final — we don't offer refunds. If you're experiencing a technical issue accessing the tool after purchase, email us and we'll make it right.
Will it work on mobile?
Yes, fully responsive on iOS and Android. The year-by-year table and PDF report are best viewed on desktop or landscape mode, but all inputs and results work on mobile.
